We know that your lives are busy and that it isn’t always easy to get to the library even with the best intentions. That’s why we invested in these high quality e-Resources, most of which you can access from home anytime using a Westland Library card. These resources are especially designed for young, developing minds. You can also see our recommended websites and databases on our Fun Stuff and Homework Help pages.

e-Resources for In-Library and At-Home Use

BookFlix: Fiction and non-fiction book pairing from Scholastic that builds the love of reading and learning one book at a time (accessible anytime, anywhere in Michigan).

Brittanica School: Pre K - 2nd grade. Activity-centered learning to explore, play, read, and build technology skills. Letters, numbers, geography, shapes and much more are included.

TumbleBooks Premium: Your family's answer to building reading, math and multiple literacy skills in one website. It includes animated talking picture books, chapter books, videos, non-fiction titles, playlists, books in languages other than English (such as French and Spanish), as well as graphic novels and math stories. Please note you need a Westland Library card to access TumbleBooks Premium. You don't need a library card to access the TumbleBooks Book of the Day!

hoopla Digital: Streaming video, music, and audiobook site that has good-sized Picture Book (movie) and AudioBook collections for kids. Please note you need a Westland Library card to check out materials from hoopla. If you need help getting started, please see the library's Downloadables page.

World Book Early World of Learning: Grades PreK-5. Follow Trek and Taffy the cat around the world learning about colors, numbers and other fun things. Strengthen reading foundations with stories, activities and videos. Explore the Know It encyclopedia designed especially for early readers.

ABCMouse.com: With more than 7,000 learning activities and 650 lessons, ABCMouse.com is the most comprehensive early learning curriculum available online!

AWE Early Literacy Station: The library’s 2 Early Literacy Stations (ELS) are a dynamic all-in-one digital learning solution for children ages 2-8. It requires no Internet connection, so it is safe and secure. The latest version features more than 70 educational software applications spanning seven curricular areas.
