The Summer Reading Program begins on Saturday June 12th with a kick-off event for the whole family. Drop by the library between 10 am - 4 pm to register and make a simple craft. Special treats for each child who registers on this day.

Come meet Suzanne MacDermid, a local author who has written a book called "Hamilton, My Great Life". Hamilton is a hamster and Suzanne tells the story of his daily life. No registration is required.

Members of our staff & volunteer team will be reading stories aloud every Wednesday during the Summer Reading Program. What better way to encourage children to enjoy the benefit of books? Language-rich experiences are important for literacy development & children love to see colorful pictures that bring stories to life. Please stop in & share the fun! No registration required.
* Art Start: Watercolor Water Creatures
2:00pm to 3:30pm, ages 6 - 11, Children's Activity Room
A talented teen artist will lead this class for children ages 6 -11. Children will use watercolor paints to create a unique and beautiful design. Limited to 20 children. Registration begins June 2nd.

Summer Concert Series: Livonia Youth Symphony Orchestra
7:00pm to 8:00pm, all ages, Library Pavilion
Join us for a magical concert of classical favorites performed by the 30+ member Livonia Youth Symphony Orchestra. Sections featured include: Concert Strings, Symphony Strings, Combined Strings, Wind Selections, Flute Choir, Brass Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and the Philharmonic. Limited seating (so bring a chair if you're late).

Join us for a Pajama Story time! Wear your favorite pajamas and bring a furry friend (one that you don't mind leaving behind for the night). We will read stories and decorate a bear-shaped cookie. *PLEASE PICK UP YOUR FRIEND ON SATURDAY JUNE 19TH BETWEEN 2-4 PM AND ENJOY A QUICK CRAFT. Registration begins June 4th.

Meet live frogs, turtles, snakes, toads & other fascinating animals & explore their history at this program led by a Wayne County naturalist. No registration is required. THE FIRST 50 CHILDREN WILL BE ADMITTED.
