There will be no TAB meeting in December. Meetings will resume in January 2012. The dates for next year are as follows:

P.S. We're collecting toys for Toys for Tots again this year. Bring in a new, unwrapped toy between now and Dec. 20th to donate to children in need. Boxes are located at the Reception Desk and the Reference Desk.
The TAB talked about starting a poster contest to decorate the blue wall space near the ceiling. We also chose books, as well as prizes for this year's Summer Reading Program.
The winter clothing drive was a big success- thank you to everyone who donated!
Teen Improv Night will be in the second week of April.
We briefly discussed some graphic novels that could be added to the YA collection.
Booklists for January/February were passed around and everyone circled books they thought the library should buy.
We planned the Teen Facebook page, discussing what we should feature on the page. The Teen Facebook will be linked to the Westland Library Teen page.
Our goal for the next meeting is to have at least 20 people attend. I'll be sending fliers to the schools and the TAB members will be talking to their friends. Officer elections are coming up next year and most of our officers are seniors, so finding new TAB members is very important.
The TAB will not meet in December. The next meeting is Tuesday, January 25th, at 7.
For Oct. 26th's meeting, we discussed some ideas for upcoming programs. There will be a tea leaf reading program on Dec. 2nd and a candy wreath craft program on Dec. 20th. Ideas for a Battle of the Books and a debate team were bounced around for a bit.
The winter clothing drive (which runs until Dec. 30th) is still going strong. The box is outside the Friends' Store in the lobby.
Next meeting is Nov. 30th.
At September's meeting, we discussed the outcome of the Teen Lock-In on Sept. 18th. 16 teens attended and were locked in the library from 9 PM Saturday to 8 AM Sunday. Everyone seemed to have a fun, safe time.
The TAB fall/winter charity will be a winter apparel collection drive. We discussed setting out boxes (similar to the Toys for Tots drive) and collecting winter hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, coats, etc.
Next meeting is October 26th!

Join us for TAB meetings the last Tuesday of each month at 7 PM. If you have recommendations for programs, displays, or books we should add to the Young Adult collection, then you should join TAB. All teens are welcome, and there's free pizza each month.
