Award
A literary award for mystery and crime writers who write
via the same method as Agatha Christie (i.e. closed setting,
no sex or violence, amateur detective).
Caldecott
Medal
An annual award by the Association for Library Service to
Children, a division of the American Library Association, to
the artist of the most distinguished American picture book
for children.
Edgar
Allen Poe Award
A award honoring the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction,
television, film, and theatre published or produced in the
previous year by the Mystery Writers of America.
Hugo
Award
A prize given every year for the best science fiction or
fantasy works and achievements of the previous year.
Man Booker
Prize
A literary prize awarded each year for the best original
full-length novel, written in the English language, by a
citizen of either the Commonwealth of Nations, Ireland, or
Zimbabwe.
National
Book Award
Presented by the National Book Foundation, awards are given

Award
A prize given every year given each year by the Science

Medal

Prize
A U.S. award for achievement in 21 categories of American
letters and media including fiction.
RITA
Award
This award is presented by Romance Writers of America (RWA)
and signifies excellence in one of 13 categories of
romantic fiction.
